Artist Spotlight: Sara Evans
by Nick Murray | March 12, 2014
Sara Evans started in music early, joining her family's bluegrass band at age four and gigging around Missouri when she became old enough to play on her own. Her 1997 debut, Three Chords and the Truth, introduced her as a traditionalist, mixing original compositions with standards from Patsy Cline, Buck Owens and Bill Anderson. For this Artist Spotlight, we start there, move through pop breakthroughs like No Place That Far and Real Fine Place, and continue on up through her recently released, excellent album Slow Me Down.
