The Billboard Latin Music Awards, happening April 26 in Miami and on Telemundo, are one of the year's most important barometers of Latin music, charting the hottest songs, the biggest albums, the brightest rising stars. So yeah, the nominees are important. This year's include Romeo Santos and Shakira for Artist of the Year, Calibre 50 and Il Volo for New Artist of the Year, Don Omar's "Danza Kuduro" in a clutch of categories, and a whole lot of Prince Royce and Pitbull.
Sure, the announcement of winners will be exciting. But come on: we all know we really tune in to watch the glittering, star-studded spectacle of the performances. Right? Right. And Billboard's slate includes some pretty spectacular ones this year, with a lineup that, like Latin music trends in general lately, skews toward the urban tropical and regional Mexican sides of things. Get pumped with our performers playlist, featuring the big hits and beloved classics we're hoping Gerardo Ortiz, 3BallMTY, Michel Telo, Jenni Rivera, Daddy Yankee, Juanes and the rest of the featured artists play!
