Catching Up with Future: 2012-2014

by Mosi Reeves  |  April 23, 2014

Future's second album, Honest, is finally here after several months of delays; over a year of his voice resonating from hip-hop and R&B stations everywhere; and nearly two years of keyboard pundits wondering why his debut, [Pluto], didn't sell more copies because he's still destined to be a superstar someday. It's put up or shut up time for the Atlanta astronaut, and a good opportunity to survey the wreckage he's generated. This playlist ranges from pre-album singles "Move That Dope" and "I Won" to mixtape favorites like "Itchin'"; Dirty South anthems like Ace Hood's "Bugatti" and Rocko's "U.O.E.N.O."; beloved pop collaborations like Rihanna's "Loveeeeeee Song"; and a few duds, like his "Real and True" track with Miley Cyrus. Basically, it gathers nearly everything he's dropped in between albums. Feel free to skip around the tracklist and pick and choose your favorites.
