Celebrity Playlist: Phantogram
Since their 2009 debut, Eyelid Movies, indie electro-rock duo Phantogram have toured relentlessly, collaborated with everyone from Big Boi to The Flaming Lips, and even scored a much-envied spot on The Hunger Games: Catching Fire soundtrack. Now, we finally get a brand new full-length from Josh Carter and Sarah Barthel. Sophomore album Voices expands on their dreamy, glitchy blend of trippy electronics, hip-hop-leaning beats and Barthel's seductive croons (there's even a song called "Bill Murray," which can only be a good thing, right?). To celebrate the release, we asked the duo to make us a playlist, and they decided to compile a mix of tracks they've been currently listening to on their tour bus. "These are the songs that keep us going on those long stretches between cities," they told us. And a great list it is, reflecting Phantogram's wide range of influences, with tracks by Missy Elliott, Robyn Hitchcock, Tame Impala, Kendrick Lamar and more.
