Two albums and tours with Casting Crowns and Newsong have earned Dara Maclean name recognition and critical acclaim, but she's about more than just music. The twenty-something is also passionate about fighting human trafficking and is focused on celebrating her first Christmas with her new husband.
"There is nothing like this time of year," she tells Rhapsody, calling Nat King Cole's "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" the "holy grail of all things Christmas music." Her custom Christmas playlist also includes legends like Frank Sinatra, Aretha Franklin and Dean Martin as well as contemporary pop acts like Mariah Carey and Faith Hill. And, of course, there are Christian counterparts like Dave Barnes, Amy Grant and Third Day. The grand finale is Shane & Shane's "Oh Come Let Us Adore Him," a song Maclean calls "the most gorgeous worship song ever written. Not just to be sung at Christmastime, but with our lives, every minute of every day."
