Deep-End Beats, April 2013
by Philip Sherburne | April 22, 2013
Once again, it's time to dive into dance music's deep end. This month's survey of left-field electronic music traverses multiple styles and moods, from Bibio's radio-ready electro-pop to grinding sweatbox business from Motor City Drum Ensemble. On the sunnier side of things, we've got DFA's Man Tear (the Italo-inspired new project from Axel Boman and Petter Nordkvist), John Talabot's dreamy Peaking Lights remix, and perky electro from DMX Krew. Then, venturing into the shadows, Slackk drops a new "Sino-grime" brooder, Zed Bias dubs up Mala's "Noches Sueños," and TNGHT turn trap-rave inside out. We've also highlighted new tunes from Emika, L-Vis 1990, Joker and more, so grab your suit and join the pool party.
