Hot Rap Singles, April 2014

by Mosi Reeves  |  April 25, 2014

The subtitle to this playlist could be "comebacks," starting with 50 Cent still trying to build momentum toward his first album in five years with two new singles, "Smoke" and "Big Rich Town." Meanwhile, Scarface, of all people, plans to issue Deeply Rooted this summer, his first album since 2008's Emeritus, and the first single is "No Problem." We've all heard about Wu-Tang Clan's new album, A Better Tomorrow -- not the one that the RZA is auctioning for millions -- and "Keep Watch." The Roots are taking a break from The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon to drop And Then You Shoot Your Cousin on May 19. Its lead single is "When the People Cheer." Inexplicably, Diddy switched his name back to Puff Daddy for "Big Homie." Girl Talk and Freeway released a mixtape in early April, Broken Ankles, and we've got a teaser from it called "Tolerated." Yung Joc is riding some momentum with "I Got B*tches." And Tyga teams with white-hot rapper Young Thug for "Hookah." Also check out new material from the late rapper Doe B as well as Migos, A$AP Mob, Vado, Fashawn and more.
