Hot Rap Singles: May 2013

by Mosi Reeves  |  May 2, 2013

This roundup of the latest rap joints is led by major prospects like Schoolboy Q ("Yay Yay") and Travi$ Scott ("Upper Echelon"), the latter who is scheduled to drop his Owl Pharaoh EP on May 21. Mac Miller works toward what he hopes will be a second No. 1 album with two new tracks ("S.D.S." and "Lucky Ass B*tch") and the theme song to his MTV show, Mac Miller and the Most Dope Family. Azealia Banks finally gives us something to talk about other than her Twitter account ("Yung Rapunxel"). We've also got a new one from Big Sean ("Switch Up") and a DJ Khaled-hosted remix of Drake's "Started from the Bottom" ("No New Friends"). For underground rap fans, there are tracks from Hieroglyphics ("Gun Fever"), Stalley ("Swangin") and, believe it or not, Cannibal Ox ("Gotham").
