Hot R&B Singles: June 2014
by Mosi Reeves | June 20, 2014
Robin Thicke leads our somewhat regular collection of R&B singles. It's unusual these days for a major artist to drop an album a year, but Thicke's separation from his wife, Paula Patton, seemingly inspired him, if "Get Her Back" is any indication. Nearly a year after his commercial breakthrough, Blurred Lines, he's returning with Paula on July 1. Less controversially, Joe will offer Bridges on June 24 -- which, incidentally, is also his second album in as many years -- and its teaser single is "Dilemma." Sebastian Mikael preps for his Speechless debut on June 24 with the Rick Ross-assisted "4 U." Ne-Yo has "Money Can't Buy" from Non Fiction, which is tentatively scheduled for September 30. Tank's Stronger is set for August 12, and we've got the title track. Jeremih is in the TBD column; we're still awaiting word on his first album in four years (not to mention that EP with Shlohmo), but in the meantime there's "Don't Tell 'Em." Other loosies include Keyshia Cole's "Rick James," a Pharrell remix of The Weeknd's "Wanderlust," two new cuts from Boyz II Men and more.
