Label Spotlight: Glassnote Records
A relatively new record label (born in 2007), Glassnote Records may be your next favorite indie tastemaker, especially with its recent signings of explosive electro-pop band Chvrches, poignant dream-folk trio Daughter and alt dance one-man-band Robert DeLong. The label has already got quite the solid foundation with indie folk heroes Mumford & Sons and festival-headlining Frenchmen Phoenix, but in the last few years its roster has expanded significantly (even extending into the world of hip-hop, releasing Childish Gambino's 2011 album, Camp). But mainly, this selective label has an ear for soundtrack-worthy indie pop and sweet singer-songwriter fare -- just check out bands like The Temper Trap and Two Door Cinema Club, along with newcomers Foy Vance and Oberhofer. Here's a primer.
