Mi Viejo: Father's Day Latino
by Judy Cantor-Navas | June 15, 2014
Fathers loom large in many of our lives, but, at least as they tell it, maybe more so in the lives of some Latin artists. As La Sonora Ponceña sings, e viejo's shoes can be huge and hard to walk in. For some, like Enrique Iglesias, Dad may have often been absent, but the moments with the one whose loins gave us life, as Alejandro Sanz croons and Vicente Fernández sobs, are never forgotten. To the tune of bachata, rock, boleros, pop, ranchera and salsa, this Father's Day list celebrates strong bonds with paternal figures.
