New Release Sampler, 3/18/14

by Linda Ryan  |  March 22, 2014

We are definitely on the threshold of spring -- the amount of new music is multiplying faster than rabbits. We have plenty of new albums in a variety of genres this week, including Enrique Iglesias' hot offering, Sex and Love. On an album full of Latin-tinged dancefloor numbers, Iglesias is joined this time around by the likes of Pitbull, Jennifer Lopez and Kylie Minogue. Speaking of, Minogue releases her own new album full of hotness, Kiss Me Once. If shiny dance pop with a discernible nod to Daft Punk's Random Access Memories sounds like your thing, this is the album for you. And if those don't give you enough reason to shake your booty, check out Skrillex's brand-new debut album, Recess. Along with offering his fuzzy, wobbling basslines and hyper beats, the mega-DJ pairs up with the likes of K-Pop heroes G-Dragon (of BIGBANG), Diplo and Ragga Twins for an album that dishes up some tasty surprises.

And there is much more from there, including new releases from rapper Kevin Gates, indie poppers Foster the People, emo vets Taking Back Sunday and country crooner Jo Dee Messina (whose Me album was funded by a Kickstarter campaign!). All these and more in this week's New Release Sampler.
