New Release Sampler, 4/8/14

by Linda Ryan  |  April 8, 2014

There is so much new music to choose from this week! First up, country lovers should check out Martina McBride's Everlasting, a covers album full of songs that have stood the test of time (hence the title). There's a bit of everything here -- standards, blue-eyed soul, blues and rock -- all filtered through McBride's powerhouse vocals. Next, you don't have to be a Christian music fan to appreciate MercyMe's Welcome to the New, which features radio-friendly offerings like "Gotta Let It Go," a bombastic slice of pop/rock that isn't too far removed from, say, INXS. Hip-hop fans will want to check out Convertibles by Chuck Inglish of The Cool Kids, but beware: The heavy bass on "Elevators" may just blow your speakers. Meanwhile, indie pop geeks will love the spun-sugar sound of King of Prussia, while fans of stripped-down, falsetto-laden R&B will want to give Young & Sick a spin. And there's so much more from there, including new singles from Sarah McLachlan, David Guetta, Brad Paisley and Tim McGraw. Hit play and get introduced to this week's new releases.
