New Release Sampler, 7/9/2013

This week, Ciara releases her self-titled fifth and best album with the brightly lit "Body Party" and "Super Turnt Up," while Skylar Grey's piano ballads, like "White Suburban" and the Big Sean feature "Back from the Dead," have a tinge of Eminem's influence. Jay Sean and Rick Ross continue Maybach Music's smoothly ominous takeover with "Mars," and Daughn Gibson's indie-rock collages, like "The Sound of Law" and "Phantom Rider," have a unique Johnny Cash feel to the singing. Kate Nash's "Omygod!" is an unusually sweet respite from the political roar of her most recent album, while Karmin puts forth the funky, stuttering "Acapella." All this and more in this week's new release highlights.
