This week No Age crank up their art-damaged punk drones on "I Won't Be Your Generator," while the much-ballyhooed Earl Sweatshirt brings us into his dank, swirling world of depressive, mesmerizing hip-hop flows on "20 Wave Caps." White Lies make widescreen Britpop suitable for arenas on "Getting Even," and John Mayer's familiar brand of wispy roots-rock balladry returns for "Dear Marie." The reunited Nine Inch Nails take a turn for the new wave on appetite-whetting single "Copy of A," and A$AP Ferg's "Hood Pope" continues the wavy winning streak of A$AP Mob into rap's chart dominance. The Tedeschi Trucks Band, consisting of Allman Brothers axe-grandson Derek Trucks and his wife Susan Tedeschi, unleash another blues-rock smoke-out with "Do I Look Worried." All this and more in this week's highlights roundup.
