With a debut album due sometime in 2014, it's quite possible that Mike Will Made It will continue to be an inescapable presence. Still, it will be hard for the Atlanta producer to top a year in which his atmospheric club sounds dominated the charts. His hits ranged from the hammering percussion of Ace Hood's "Bugatti" to the synth pop melodies of Miley Cyrus' "We Can't Stop" and the intoxicated strip-club rhythms of Rihanna's "Pour It Up," Ciara's "Body Party" and Lil Wayne's "Love Me." Heard together, these songs have a tone as distinctive as that of the other big winner of 2013, Pharrell Williams. But while Skateboard P is deep into a two-decade career, we've only begun to hear what Mike Will Made It can do.
