Quadron's World

by Mosi Reeves  |  June 6, 2013

The release of Quadron's new Avalanche caps a period in which the Copenhagen duo has established itself as a beacon of modern, innovative soul, whether it's Odd Future affiliate The Internet's Purple Naked Ladies (which features guest vocals from singer Coco O) or Kendrick Lamar's "Bitch, Don't Kill My Vibe" and its sample from Boom Clap Bachelors' "Tiden Flyver" (a song coproduced by Robin Hannibal). Then there's Rhye, the collaboration between Hannibal and Canadian musician Mike Milosh that fused R&B, singer-songwriter tones and chamber pop into early 2013's beguiling, critically acclaimed Woman.

Though Avalanche is Quadron's first album in more than three years, Robin and Coco have been busy since their brilliant 2010 self-titled debut. This playlist surveys their activity, including Coco O's contribution to Tyler, the Creator's Wolf and the Great Gatsby soundtrack, and the duo's mesmerizing cover of Michael Jackson's "Baby Be Mine" for the Think Like a Man soundtrack.
