Radio: 2014 Top Latin Tracks
by Judy Cantor-Navas | August 21, 2014
It's been a year in which reggaeton came back, World Cup songs scored, and "Bailando"— an infectious fusion number by a pop superstar and some grooving Cubans — went to No. 1 and stayed there. Bachata, mostly in the form of hit songs by Romeo Santos, has continued to draw crowds. Meanwhile, Regional Mexican still reigns in music by young gun Gerardo Ortiz and newcomers like El Dasa and Luis Coronel. The international mash-up that is Latin music has continued its winning experiment with dance pop, with artists and producers creating some of the best mestizo music ever out of a globe-trotting mix of traditional and synthetic rhythms. Get an earful of those songs and more on our station of hits that have formed the Latin soundtrack in 2014.
