Rhapsody's Best of 2012
by Rhapsody | December 24, 2012
If you hadn't noticed, we listen to a ton of music around here: Regional Mexican accordion jams, stoner-metal arias, epileptic EDM barrages, street-rap battle hymns, soaring Christian-rock devotionals, hat-country weepers, furious throwback-punk bromides, R&B bodice-rippers, classic-rock beard-shredders, cerebral jazz excursions, genre-shattering classical experiments, and tongue-twisting party-starters from every country on the map. It's exhausting; it's exhilarating. And in December, we gather here to pick our absolute favorites: Let's say 20 to 30 of our favorite albums in every genre, for starters. We'll add new lists every day, climaxing with our overall Top 50 albums and tracks, plus our pick for Artist of the Year and other fun surprises. Here's the music we fell in love with this year. We hope you'll do the same.
