Rhapsody's Top 50 Tracks of 2013

by Mosi Reeves  |  December 28, 2013

Here at Rhapsody, we pride ourselves on taking deep dives into the spectrum of contemporary music, whether it's the pop songs you're (overly) familiar with or the weird sounds you never knew existed. So our annual Top 50 Songs list presents some amazing juxtapositions. Marc Anthony's salsa celebration "Vivir Mi Vida" sits next to Ace Hood's trap-rattling "Bugatti." Drake's club anthem "Started from the Bottom" nestles alongside Bunji Garlin's soca hit "Differentology." Haim's glam-inflected pop-rock "The Wire" drops before the Mary Halvorson Septet's post-rock inspired avant-jazz suite "Smiles of Great Men." And yes, Miley Cyrus' "Wrecking Ball" is here, too, right beside Daft Punk's "Get Lucky" and Ciara's "Body Party." From Kacey Musgraves' post-recession lament "Blowin' Smoke" to DJ Rashad's footwork loop "Show U How," we've compiled a list of great songs (here, in alphabetical order by artist) that reflects our editors' knowledge, as well as some of the best music this year has produced. So go on, get listening!
