Have you guys been following this whole Mars mission? Maybe the Olympics got me in an epic, humanity-loving kind of mood. Maybe it was the saga of Mohawk dude and Elvis guy. Maybe it was all the years I spent (not-so-)secretly loving me some Star Trek: The Next Generation. (Captain Jean-Luc Picard still sits atop my Christmas tree every year. He's my dreamy, bald, guardian angel). Whatever the reason, I cannot take my eyes off reports of NASA's brave little rover and, especially, those eerily familiar yet hauntingly alien photos of the red planet that Curiosity (even the name is so whimsical!) has been sending back.
Do you share my spaciness, friends? Do you, too, want to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations, to boldly go where no one has gone before -- if only in your mind? Well, even if you're a dyed-in-the-wool earthling, you're still gonna find something to tickle your fancy in this collection of space jams from pop, rock and soul's dreamers, stargazers and aliens-among-us, including Kid Cudi, Janelle Monae, R.E.M. and, of course, David Bowie. Party on the final frontier, yo!
