So we survived another week-long sojourn down to Austin, Tex., for the kajillion-band calamity known as South by Southwest, this time with no arrests and/or emergency surgeries. (Let's just say that's not a given.) We ate a lot of barbecue, got our hands stamped at a lot of bars/parking lots/"forts" etc., and saw a ton of bands: From the noise-punk assault of Metz to the slick R&B of Solange, from the crowd-pleasing hip-hop of Twenty One Pilots to the deranged team-up of Afghan Whigs and Usher. That was awesome, BTW. It all was. Here are the songs that soundtracked another wild (but not too wild) extended weekend.
