The Best of Dipset

Over 10 years after their first crew mixtape, Diplomats Volume 1, hit the streets of New York -- changing forever the way rap music sounded, was released and was distributed -- Cam'ron, Juelz Santana, Jim Jones and Freekey Zekey still run the city. They can be heard booming from trunk sub-woofers during the day and seen arriving a couple hours late to the occasional sold-out reunion show at night. Spitting intricate, wordy narratives (in Cam's case) or (in Juelz's) direct, one-line-at-a-time boasts over beats by The Heatmakerz and Roc-a-Fella Records twin towers Just Blaze and Kanye West, the Dipset group produced enough supply to satisfy the demands of all but the most devoted listeners. Here, we've narrowed down more than a decade's output into three hours of hits.
