Rhapsody Top Tracks 2004: A Reason to Remember Hoobastank
by Rob Harvilla | December 8, 2011
Rhapsody turns 10 years old this month, and in celebration we've crunched the numbers and determined our 15 most popular songs for every year we've been alive. Here are our findings.
Yes, Hoobastank. Respect is due. Righteous power ballad "The Reason" leads a gathering otherwise gate-crashed by the funky white boys of Maroon 5 ("She Will Be Loved" is still awesome), and which also includes arguably Britney Spears' finest hour, the punk-ish intensity of Blink-182 and Yellowcard, tumultuous pop princesses Avril Lavigne and Ashlee Simpson, and some Usher and Nelly for balance. Note also that the toast of 2003, the one and only Outkast, defiantly stuck around. Not everyone on this playlist had a great year overall (see Ashlee's October Saturday Night Live debacle), but they all nonetheless found a reason to be, to change who they used to be. A reason to start over.
