Yuletide Twang 2012
by Linda Ryan | November 22, 2012
When it comes to the holidays, there's nothing like tradition: gathering the family to decorate the tree on the same date every year, Mom's mouthwatering seasonal treats, the office holiday party, Christmas mass (or not) -- they all make up our annual rituals when it comes to the Christmas season.
Country music oughtta figure heavily into those traditions: What would the holidays be without hearing Gene Autry's "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" or Brenda Lee's "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree"? But just as Starbucks introduced those damn gingerbread and spiced-pumpkin lattes, we're sneaking in a few fresh, potentially life-altering curveballs of our own. This Christmas playlist is made up of nothing but the newest holiday tunes. OK, one or two might be from last year, but come on! We've got the likes of Blake Shelton, Lady Antebellum, Darius Rucker and more of your favorite country artists. Who knows which among these awesome new tunes will be the next to become an annual tradition?
