Betty Comden and Adolph Green were superior lyricists and writers who helped revolutionize both Broadway (with On the Town) and Hollywood (they wrote the screenplay to Singing in the Rain and a number of witty, ironic classics). Here, Blossom Dearie lets her plaintive yet bubbly voice and always just right jazz piano caress 10 Comden & Green compositions. This stands up as one of Dearie's all- time best works and guitarist Kenny Burrell given plenty of room to shine on the set's second half. By the way, "Some Other Time" was Bill Evans' inspiration for his immortal modal jazz ballad "Peace Piece."
