Description of New Orleans Blues

As its name suggests, the blues isn't generally about putting on a big smile and having a good time. But in this regard -- as in so many others -- New Orleans is a bit different. With a background of Caribbean rhythms (especially the rumba) and Dixieland strut, New Orleans Blues is nothing if not a party. Driven by horns and the Boogie-Woogie piano stylings of Fats Domino and Professor Longhair, this style can sound anything from laid-back and happy to foot-stomping and wild.
