Bobby Byrd

An excellent comp from this former JB's keyboardist and the first man who ever invited James Brown up on stage, Back From the Dead chronicles the legendary Byrd's later years living in Miami and working with Magic City producer Henry Stone, though it also includes a live version of the quintessential Byrd classic, "I Know You Got Soul." Stone really brought out the best in Byrd. The sultry "The Way to Get Down" and the joyous "Feel Good Friday" are just two gems on an album overloaded with classics.
