About

As a band from Seattle that formed in the early '90s, Candlebox often gets the grunge label stamped on their foreheads. While a somber layer of angst overlays their throaty, explosive choruses and crunchy guitars, their roots lie more in rock and blues than metal and punk. Their 1993 self-titled debut offered a crisp, polished approach that sat well with mainstream radio listeners yearning for a softer kind of flannel. The result included Billboard hits for "Far Behind," "Change," "You" and "Cover Me." Their early success, however, tapered off with subsequent releases Lucy in 1995 and Happy Pills in 1998. Still, the band trekked on, reuniting the original lineup in 2006 and releasing their first album in ten years with 2008's Into the Sun.
