Cannonball Adderley

This is widely considered to be Cannonball' Adderley's finest outing as a leader. With Miles Davis as a sideman, Something Else actually feels closer to an album from the trumpeter's late '50s period (think of it as Kind Of Blue Two)than a funkified Cannonball recording. Over all, it's a beautiful, introspective yet swinging set that also features Hank Jones on piano and Art Blakey on drums. Contains the definitive instrumental recording of "Autumn Leaves."
