Carter's Chord

About

These singing, songwriting sisters grew up surrounded by music, born to Bakersfield parents, who were part of Waylon Jennings' band, the Waylors. Not long after learning how to walk, Becky, Joanna and Emily Robertson were already singing in three-part harmony, bringing a new dimension to the music made in their household. Waylon tapped the trio to sing on his Grammy-nominated children's album, Cowboys, Sisters, Rascals & Dirt and the girls were hooked on music for life. Once their parents moved to Nashville, they were immersed in the rich tradition of country music, and started writing their own songs. In 2005, the girls were asked to play a benefit for diabetes research held in Waylon Jennings honor, and shortly after, decided to make a demo of some of the songs they had written. By Valentine's Day 2006, Carter's Chord were playing a showcase for Toby Keith. Their self-titled debut was subsequently released on Keith's Show Dog Nashville label in June 2008.
