On his debut, Cham finds the middle ground between ferocious-but-morally-flawed dancehall of Buju Banton and the light Caribbean pop of Sean Paul. The folksy but catchy title track, which is also the lead single, presents a series of Island vignettes that are refreshing because they celebrate the struggles rather than the struggles' booty. The song's production is old school dancehall -- tinier and less foreboding than the modern stuff -- and perfectly complements the lyric's quaintly anti-materialistic themes.
