While countless new bands ape pioneering rockers like the Stooges and New York Dolls, Canadian duo Chromeo go another route, revisiting classic early 1980s electro-funk. Strapped with vocoders, 808 beats and piles of synths, their debut LP plays like a time machine set to a dance party circa 1982.
