"Iberia" is an aural canvas awash with vibrant spring color, and is the greatest hit of this collection. Somewhat less accessible but no less interesting are the harmonically complex "Jeux," from a ballet about love on a tennis court, and "King Lear," which consists of two short and seldom heard fragments from a production of the play. Rattle is here with the orchestra that brought him to prominence.
