Rhapsody

The first album from this pioneering, underappreciated Cali crew, It's A Compton Thang, hits listeners with boisterous beats, raw rhymes, and a gang of funky samples. Closer to Above the Law than N.W.A., MC Eiht and the squad deliver tight rhymes about life in the CPT that are not nearly as violent as they'd get on future releases. A bit dated but still quality.
