With Joni Mitchell's earth-toned watercolor cover art and the perfect sequencing of CSN&Y's best songs, So Far is more indicative of the early '70s Los Angelino canyon rock scene than any other album released during that period. The searing pain of "Ohio," and soaring beauty of "Helpless," reiterate that this amatory sound can never be truly recreated.

This group might benefit from a compilation that concentrated on guitar interactions and uptempo throwaways. Needless to say, that's not the one we get. (Grade - B-)
