This Romanian exile knows what it is to be homeless -- maybe that's why his album flirts so joyfully with African music, flamenco and his native Gypsy traditions while maintaining a grounding in dense electronics. He can variously sound like Enigma, the Gipsy Kings or Cheb i Sabbah -- tough to categorize, easy to like.
