Dar Williams

Dar devotees will relish this live retrospective, which spans the folk singer's career from her debut, The Honesty Room, through 2003's The Beauty of the Rain. Williams' sweet voice has grown a bit husky with age, which suits her classics (poignant "February," poppy "Are You Out There") just fine. Warning to newbies: the cloyingly earnest "The Babysitter's Here" is not for the faint of heart. But don't miss perennial Intro to Women's Studies fave "When I Was a Boy," which is(unfortunately) as relevant today as it was in 1995.
