Dave Douglas

Dave Douglas welcomes guitarist Bill Frisell aboard on this 2004 release. It's a comfortable fit, with Douglas giving plenty of space to Frisell while continuing to embrace group exploration over star solo turns. And while the stereotype of modern avant-garde jazz says that the music isn't supposed to be "pretty," the music here often is very pretty indeed.
