De Dannan

About

Arising in the 1970s from jam sessions at a pub in county Galway, De Dannan are recognized as a crucial group in the re-emergence of Irish traditional music. Featuring the standard fiddle, guitar, bouzouki, flute, and button accordion, they play a lot of upbeat jigs and reels, but also ballads that showcase their superb singers -- including, among the many, stars such as Dolores Keane and Mary Black.
