Dean Brody's deep voice and relaxed twang may be easy on the ears, but it's the quaint wistfulness of his songs that make his music so endearing. Whether he's extolling the virtues of fly-fishing, drinking sweet tea or taking trips to the general store, life sure sounds good when Brody sings about it. He wrote or co-wrote nine of the 11 tracks on this debut, and with lyrics like, "I built a raft out of a broken heart/ Gathered the pieces that love has torn apart," you know this guy means business.
