Dean Dillon was one of the brightest prospects to come out of the neo-traditionalist movement of the early 1990s. As a songwriter, he penned hits for George Strait while his work was also covered by the likes of George Jones and Steve Wariner. Dillon's balance between wry Honky-Tonk humor and slick Nashville sensibility has earned him a devoted following, and even though his latest records seem to rely more on the pop sound of New Country, his material is still considered by country purists to be a cut above the usual radio fare.
