Rhapsody

Miles Davis always said that singers influenced his horn playing, so this vocal tribute to the jazz legend is quite fitting. A rhythm section led by pianist Joe Sample (in a rare mainstream jazz appearance) backs Rowland's stately yet understated vocals; trumpeters Wallace Rooney and Sal Marquez offer solo statements that evoke, but don't mirror, Miles. Tasty.
