Devo

Though the itchy, simply awesome "Big Mess" sounds like the Devo of yore, by 1982 the band was relying almost exclusively on synths. They tried for, and deserved, a major hit with the (seemingly) positive, humanistic "Good Thing," but only modern rock stations were biting. "Peek-a-boo" earned them heavy rotation at the better high school dances.
