While Punk rock was burning down ideas of what music should and shouldn't be, the organ-drenched, maniacal DMZ blew open the doors for a new, primitive, '60s garage-punk derivative sound. Their sound was worlds apart from what was coming from England at the time. DMZ considered blowing people away with wild Garage music more important than a wild hairstyle or snotty attitude.
