Doug Dillard

As the title suggests, Doug Dillard of the Dillards (and Dillard & Clark) might have fallen on some hard times. This could explain why his 1969 solo debut, The Banjo Album, has been re-sequenced, repackaged and reissued. Or maybe the good folks at SnailWorx just wanted to turn a new generation on to the best instrumental bluegrass album of all time. Of course, diehard string band traditionalists may not agree that psychedelic Indian drones belong in bluegrass music. And other purists may not appreciate the integration of harpsichord, dembek and tables. But you know what? Screw those people.
