Duncan Sheik

Duncan Sheik's second musical, Whisper House, saw a small production in the fall of 2008, but the curious fact that its soundtrack precedes a Broadway production is a testament to the strength of the songs themselves. Performed by Sheik and harmonizing co-singer Holly Brook, the spare arrangements come with clarinets and shuffling beats. The soundtrack tells the story of a haunted lighthouse with light drama, but pop numbers like "Earthbound Starlight" stand well on their own.
