Rhapsody

Edging up alongside other U.K. post-punk revivalists of the '00s, the Editors, like their contemporaries, have been compared to purveyors of the bleakly romantic genre, Joy Division, numerous times. So they must be a major influence, right? Not according to the Editors' lyricist and vocalist Tom Smith, who talked to Rhapsody about Radiohead and R.E.M. and why the release of Definitely Maybe became "year zero" for him. Smith also discusses the writing process for the band's second release and reveals how the lyrics within touch on his response to death and tragedy in his own life.
