Elevator

Decades from now, when Rhino produces its Nuggets-like box sets for the golden age of lo-fi indie (i.e., the early and mid-'90s), Elevator's earliest output -- back when they were still called Elevator to Hell -- should occupy an entire disc. Parts 1-3, from 1996, which itself is a compilation of the band's first three albums, boasts all the classic touchstones: amateur musicianship, bedroom privacy and moody pop influence by both Sebadoh and the Velvet Underground. This is just awesome.
