Like folk rectors Cohen and Dylan, Elvis Perkins possesses a profound ability to capture cerebral moments and express them through a simple melody or a bittersweet lyric. With a three-piece percussion ensemble behind him, Perkins performs live at our intimate SXSW studios. "Good Friday" features a somber accordion drone beneath gentle idiophones and harmonica impressions, an ethereal alternative to the piano-driven version from his full-length debut Ash Wednesday .
